We leave a large portion of the day to work with you and your little one so there is time for feeding and changing as we capture the poses you desire.  From the first meeting, we will discuss your final artwork goals so we can create timeless pieces to share for generations.

FAQ

When should I schedule my shoot?

Ideally, you should schedule your newborn’s photo shoot in your last trimester to ensure a spot has been reserved for you on the schedule. I work with one baby per day so the time slots are limited. New arrivals have a schedule of their own and I prefer to let them dictate ☺. We can discuss props for your shoot and clothing options and have that all set ahead of time. The exact shoot date will be finalized after the birth.

What kind of Newborn Portrait Props do you use?

We have a variety of colorful and neutral colored wraps and blankets. I shoot on a posing beanbag which keeps the baby very safe and comfortable. I also use baskets and always prefer simple setups with minimal props. I am happy to incorporate any baby photography ideas you bring to the table.

What areas do you serve?

My newborn portrait clients mainly come from the Fairfield County are covering Stamford, Darien, Greenwich, Norwalk, Rowayton, New Canaan, Wesport, Southport and Fairfield. We also serve our neighboring NY towns- Chappaqua, Bedford, Mt. Kisco, Armonk ad Pound Ridge. My clients primarily come to my studio in Stamford, but I will travel if needed.

What should I expect on arrival?

I like to tell clients working from my studio is “Newborn Portraits made easy”. If you make the time to get here, I will do the rest. You have access to your own green room for private nursing and storage of personal items. The studio includes a couch so you can watch and relax while I shoot.

How will the actual shoot go?

Upon arrival you will enter the studio, where you can unload what you have brought and take the baby out of the car seat. If you need to nurse you can do this at any time prior, during or after the shoot. Time is allotted for this. Depending on the baby’s disposition and whether small siblings are present, we will determine the flow of the session. At this point props are chosen and we have decided who will go first. While I make adjustments to my studio, you can get the baby/siblings dressed and ready. I am fine with you letting your kids arrive in anything and dressing once you get here so clothing does not get dirty en route. Snack breaks are encouraged and you are welcome to bring food into the studio.

Can I buy an album of my shoot?

Yes! Prior to the shoot we should have discussed what type of art you are looking to display from your session. Some clients prefer an album for each session or an album that consists of the baby’s first year overall. Watching them grow in a year’s time in 1 album in a special heirloom treat. Clients can also display framed and matted prints in their homes or large canvas images. It depends on your style and what you love.
